Bruce M. Wenig, MD, is the Chairman of the Department of Diagnostic Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Continuum Health Partners of New York, including the Beth Israel Medical Center, Roosevelt Hospital, and St. Luke’s Hospital. Dr. Wenig has published more than 100 articles and four books primarily in the areas of Head and Neck Pathology and/or Endocrine Pathology. A graduate of the Sackler School of Medicine New York State Division of Tel Aviv University School of Medicine Tel Aviv, Israel, Dr. Wenig, did his pathology residency at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York, NY. Fellowships in Surgical Pathology at Cedars Sinai Medical Center Los Angeles, CA, and Otolaryngic Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology Washington, D.C., followed. During his fellowship at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology, Dr. Wenig won the John Hill Brinton Award for outstanding research paper. Following his fellowship, Dr. Wenig was commissioned as an Officer in the United States Navy (Honorably Discharge) and became a Staff Pathologist in the Department of Endocrine and Otorhinolaryngic Head & Neck Pathology at the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology where he remained for 11 years. During this period Dr. Wenig was appointed as the Chief, Division of Otolaryngic Pathology, and then the Assistant Chairman for the Department of Endocrine and Otorhinolaryngic Head & Neck Pathology. In 1998 Dr. Wenig became the Director of Anatomic Pathology and Vice Chair for Anatomic Pathology in the Department of Pathology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx, NY. In 2001 he became the Director of Anatomic Pathology in the Department of Pathology at Continuum Health Partners in New York, NY, and in 1994 was named Chairman. Dr. Wenig is an acknowledged national and international authority on Head and Neck Pathology, and Endocrine Pathology, and is an invited lecturer throughout the world. He serves on the editorial board of eight peer-reviewed journals.
