Sa A. Wang, MD is an associate Professor and associate director of flow cytometry laboratory at the Department of hematopathology, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She received her doctoral degree in medicine and masters degree in tumor biology from Xiangya medical school in 1992. She completed her residency in Anatomic Pathology and Clinical Pathology at Yale University School of Medicine, and Hematopathology fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital Harvard Medical School and is board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Hematology. Her first staff position was an assistant professor at the University Massachusetts Medical Center, and medical director of Hospital Flow Cytometry Laboratory. Over her academic career she has published over 100 articles and 18 book chapters. Dr. Wang has served as a reviewer for numerous medical journals and is an editorial member of the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Pathology and Cytometry B, Clinical Cytometry. Dr. Wang has been a faculty number for many CME credit courses sponsored by various national/international academic organizations. Her major area of research is centered on various types of leukemias, including the use of histologic, immunophenotypic, and molecular genetic methods for disease diagnosis, classification, and prognosis.
