Dr. Vasef is a Professor of Pathology at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and Director of Molecular Diagnostic Laboratory at TriCore Reference Laboratory in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is an author in Amirsys Diagnostic Pathology: Blood and Bone Marrow and in Diagnostic Pathology: Spleen. He has been in the academic field for over 19 years with over 45 peer-reviewed publications. He has been the lead author of chapters in “Pathology of the Spleen” in The Complete Spleen published in 2001. A graduate of University of Tehran, Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Vasef did his combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology residency at Mt. Sinai Medical center, an affiliate of Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH and a fellowship in Hematopathology at the City of Hope National Medical Center, in Duarte, California. His main areas of research and interest include hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology. Currently, he continue his services as Professor of Pathology in the fields of hematopathology and molecular genetic pathology.
