Dr. Tonkovic-Capin received his medical degree from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine in Croatia. His residency in dermatology was completed at the Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where he served as chief resident. He also completed an internship in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut, a neurophysiology research fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and a dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, under directorship of Dr. Clay J. Cockerell. Dr. Tonkovic-Capin is certified by the American Board of Dermatology (Dermatology) and by the American Boards of Dermatology and Pathology (Dermatopathology). He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, College of American Pathologists, and Kansas City Dermatologic Society.
