Dr. Satish Tickoo is an Attending Pathologist and Member at Memorial Hospital in Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY. He is a senior member of the Genitourinary Pathology team in the department, and is known internationally as an expert in the field, particularly in renal, testicular, and adrenal tumors. Over an academic career of more than 25 years in pathology, he has published more than 120 articles and 7 book chapters, mostly in the field of genitourinary pathology. Among his more notable contributions have been describing two new types of renal cancers, clear cell papillary RCC and acquired cystic disease-associated RCC. Dr. Tickoo graduated from the Medical College in Kashmir, India, and did his residencies in Pathology from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, India and Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, MI. After the second residency in Detroit, 3 fellowships in Surgical Oncological Pathology, Experimental and Gastrointestinal Pathology, and Geniurinary Pathology followed at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York. He joined Weill Cornell Medical College in New York as Assistant Professor in 2000, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2003, moved back to his current institution in 2005, and has been a full Attending Pathologist there since 2009.
