Dr. Steven Shen is a Staff Pathologist and Associate Medical Director of Surgical Pathology, Department of Pathology and Genomic Medicine, The Methodist Hospital. He is also a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of Weill Medical College of Cornell University. Dr. Shen is an internationally recognized expert in genitourinary pathology, and over a 12-year academic career he has published nearly 100 articles and co-authored 3 books and contributed 5 additional book chapters in genitourinary pathology.
A graduate of Tongji Medical University, Wuhan, China, Dr. Shen did his residency in Anatomical and Clinical Pathology at the Pennsylvania State University/Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and subsequently, received his fellowship training in Oncologic Surgical Pathology at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center at Houston, Texas. His clinical and research interest involves identifying morphologic and molecular abnormalities of neoplasm and correlating these with diagnosis, prognosis, and future treatment of genitourinary cancers including kidney, urinary bladder, prostate, and testis.
