Dr. Gregory Y. Lauwers, MD is Vice Chair of the Department of Pathology and Director of the gastrointestinal pathology service at Massachusetts General Hospital as well as Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School. He is also Adjunct Professor of Pathology at Saitama Medical University in Japan. His work has centered mainly on gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary and pancreatic pathology, particularly oncologic surgical pathology. An internationally recognized expert in this field, he has been a regular invited speaker at all major national and international pathology meetings. Dr. Lauwers serves on the editorial boards of the American Journal of Surgical Pathology, the American Journal of Clinical Pathology, and Modern Pathology, and is Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. He has published over 200 articles in gastrointestinal pathology.
