Dr. Laura Webb Lamps, MD is a Professor of Pathology and Vice Chair for Academic Affairs in the Department of Pathology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She completed her pathology residency and fellowship training at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. Dr. Lamps joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in 1998, where she has served in numerous roles including Director of Surgical Pathology and Director of the Diagnostic Laboratories.
She is the author of the textbook Surgical Pathology of the Gastrointestinal System: Bacterial, Fungal, Viral, and Parasitic Infections, and has authored numerous other book chapters and articles in the areas of GI and liver pathology and infectious disease pathology. She also served as lead author of the Diagnostic Pathology: Pancreatic and Hepatobiliary and Diagnostic Pathology: Normal Histology books published by Amirsys Publishing, Inc. Dr. Lamps has won numerous educational awards and serves as the chair of the Education Committee for the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
