Dr. Kodama is a board certified dermatologist and dermatologist in the US.  She was a board certified dermatologist in Japan before relocating in 2001.  She is also a basic scientist and earned her PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry in Japan.  She completed her postdoctoral training in Dr. Elaine Fuchs’ lab at Rockefeller University in New York in 2006.  She has multiple publications in scientific journals including two articles in the Cell.  She then completed her internship, dermatology residency, and dermatopathology fellowship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW) in Dallas in 2012.  During her dermatology residency, she continued her cancer research at the Hamon Center for Therapeutic Oncology at UTSW.  After graduating from her dermatopathology fellowship at UTSW in 2012, she moved to Philadelphia to work as a dermatologist/dermatopathologyst in Family Dermatology.
