Dr. Husain is a AP/CP Board certified pathologist with sub-specialty Boards in Pediatric Pathology, in practice for over 25 years. Specific interests include pulmonary and cardiac pathology with emphasis on transplant and pediatric diseases; also lung cancer and mesothelioma. She is the Director of Pathology course at the Pritzker School of Medicine for second years (combined course “Clinical Pathophysiology and Therapeutics”) and Director of Pathology Residency at the University of Chicago. She has authored over 100 peer-reviewed papers, 110 abstracts, 20 book chapters (including “The Lung” in Robbins and Cotran’s Pathologic Basis of Disease), and editor or co-editor of 5 books (Stocker and Dehner’s Pediatric Pathology, Biopsy Interpretation: Frozen Section Diagnosis and Pitfalls, Atlas of Pediatric Pathology, High Yield Thoracic Pathology and Biopsy Interpretation: Pediatric Lesions).
