Dr. Rebecca Folkerth is the Director of Neuropathology in the Department of Pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She is also a Consultant Neuropathologist at Boston Children’s Hospital and a Consultant in Medical Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She holds positions as Associate Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, and as Extraordinary Professor of Pathology at Tygerberg Hospital, Stellenbosch Faculty of Medicine in the Western Cape, Republic of South Africa.  Her work at these institutions over the last 25 years has resulted in over 100 peer-reviewed articles, 25 textbook chapters, and numerous invited lectures. Dr. Folkerth’s research interests include abnormalities of the developing brain and traumatic brain injury.  She is also the Director of the Longwood Neuropathology Training Program.
